Termite treatment, home pest control and eradication in an existing structure requires an integrated approach. This can include destruction of termites within the timber structures of your home or building, measures to locate and destroy the termite nest, establishment of a chemical and/or physical barrier, and regular inspections to detect any ongoing or new termite activity.
For existing buildings where signs of infestation have been detected, chemical treatment is usually the only option for destroying termites and re-establishing a barrier.
Step-by-step approach to general termite eradication
- A thorough termite inspection to find out whether termites are present, identify likely trouble areas with remedial action if necessary
- A check of the drainage and ventilation under and around your home and any other structures
- Application of recommended treatment to create a treated zone
- A follow-up inspection of the area within 3 months to ensure treatment has been successful
- Regular inspections as recommended by the Australian Standard (3660)
