What is a termite moisture meter used for?
Moisture meters are used to detect high levels of moisture within the internal structures of your home. Moist environments naturally attract termites. In particular, the destructive subterranean termites which are the main timber threat, become pests in buildings when there is a constant water supply available.
There are certain areas around your home that we know are common trouble spots for moisture and termite activity. The moisture meters help determine the true extent for termite hotspots and we actively advice you on sensible corrective measures.
In general, ensure that you fix leaking taps, downpipes, remove garden beds away from the house, create natural gradients so water is taken away from the house and ensure the subfloor is well ventilated.
Just Termites are trained and experienced in termite biology and have been using moisture meters for well over 10 years.
